There are many representative clubs to choose from. Each of these clubs can offer a range of programs and experiences. It is important to have a good understanding of what each club can offer your daughter when considering where she will try out. One may be better suited to your daughter?s needs than the others.
Eastern United Netball is suited to the individual who is looking to become the best player they can be and progress onto playing higher level netball. To get the most out of our elite training program, individuals need to be motivated, focussed and dedicated. However, we recognise there needs to be a healthy balance between pursuing a pathway and enjoyment of the game. For us, enjoyment of the game starts with a sense of community. Netball is a team sport and players should be able to enjoy the social aspects of belonging to a team.
What we Offer1 x training session per week, consisting of:
Separate Strength and Conditioning SessionsThese will be separate sessions and will vary between fitness and recovery based themes. We aim to not only produce netballers but to also produce athletes. We are also very mindful of our responsibility in keeping our players healthy and injury free. Our professional facilities allow for a more structured and advanced strength and conditioning program in keeping with what is offered to elite, professional athletes. Player FeedbackNot only will regular feedback be provided to each team but each player will be assigned times for individual feedback. We feel this is an integral part of player growth and progression through the sport. In addition, each player will receive a note book at the commencement of the pre-season. This will provide a visual recording of progress throughout the year. Fitness Testing / MonitoringComprehensive fitness testing will be conducted prior to pre-season training and at set intervals throughout the year. This will ensure that all strength and conditioning programs implemented are specifically designed and have a direct purpose. Results will also be used as part of our feedback process. We have invested greatly in acquiring state of the art, innovative equipment that will allow us to monitor each individual player. Important stats will be recorded during training sessions and games and will then be used to implement specific programs for our players. We will have a sound understanding of each player?s strengths and weaknesses and therefore we will be best placed to help them improve. To further ensure that we are offering the most comprehensive, individualsied program, each player will undergo a screening to be conducted by the therapists at Freedom Sports Medicine. Clear pathways for progression to elite level netballWhen committing to creating and entering teams into competition we were very clear on our purpose; to develop players and form pathways for these players to move on to higher level netball. This will continue to be the cornerstone of our program. As such, we have formed partnerships with a number of other high level coaches and clubs. Injury consultation and Myotherapy servicesAs our players will be training much like professional athletes do, it is important to provide a support network to ensure the prevention and management of injury. We have also partnered with Freedom Sports Medicine to ensure all of our players are given the best possible care. Pre-seasonOur season does not start one or two weeks before our first game but rather around a month and a half prior. We recognise that players need to undergo a solid period of training prior to entering the season. Our pre-season will incorporate a number of components including skills and fitness work. In addition, all players will be required to attend various workshops. The workshops will consist of nutritional talks, physical assessments (podiatry and physiotherapy), sports psychologist session, healthy life balance session, motivational session, team building, goal setting and more.
